Knee MRI identifies ACL, MCL, and meniscus tears, cartilage damage, and ligament injuries that X-rays can't show. It's commonly used for patients with knee pain, swelling, instability, or a suspected sports injury.
Foot and ankle MRI detects stress fractures, tendon tears, plantar fasciitis, and ligament damage in the soft tissue and small joints of the foot. It's often ordered for chronic ankle instability or unexplained heel and arch pain.
Abdominal MRI evaluates the liver, pancreas, kidneys, and other organs for masses, cysts, inflammation, and structural abnormalities. It's frequently used to investigate unexplained abdominal pain or to follow up on abnormal lab results or ultrasound findings.
Women's health MRI images the uterus, ovaries, and pelvic structures to evaluate fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and other gynecologic conditions. It provides detail that pelvic ultrasound alone often can't capture.
Hip and SI joint MRI diagnoses labral tears, hip impingement, avascular necrosis, and sacroiliac joint inflammation. It's a common next step for chronic hip or lower back pain that hasn't responded to conservative treatment.
Shoulder MRI detects rotator cuff tears, labral injuries, and impingement syndrome with far more soft-tissue detail than X-ray. It's typically ordered for shoulder pain, limited range of motion, or a suspected sports or overuse injury.
Elbow MRI identifies tendon tears, ligament sprains (including UCL injuries common in throwing athletes), and nerve compression around the joint. It's used to evaluate persistent elbow pain, instability, or numbness and tingling into the hand.
Hand and wrist MRI evaluates ligament tears, tendon injuries, and nerve compression such as carpal tunnel syndrome. It's helpful for unexplained wrist pain, weakness, or numbness that hasn't resolved with rest or bracing.
Spine MRI shows herniated or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, nerve compression, and vertebral abnormalities along the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. It's one of the most common exams for chronic back pain, sciatica, or radiating nerve symptoms.
Brain MRI detects strokes, tumors, aneurysms, MS lesions, and structural abnormalities with a level of detail no other imaging method matches. It's used to investigate chronic headaches, memory changes, dizziness, or neurological symptoms.
