MRI EXAMINATIONS

Brain (head)
MRI Scan

An MRI scan of the brain or head includes the skull, face, sinuses, and brain. It is used to detect the causes of headaches, seizures, weakness, hearing loss, mental status change, and blurry vision.

More information

Cervical (Neck)
MRI Scan

A cervical spine (neck MRI) can detect a wide range of abnormalities, disc herniations, and injuries which may be causing neck, shoulder, arm, or hand pain.

More information

Lumbar Spine
MRI Scan

Commonly used to detect a herniated disk or narrowing of the spinal canal in patients with back and/or leg pain or lower extremity weakness.

More Information

Chest
MRI Scan

Screening MRI of heart size, lungs, aorta, muscles, and chest wall. Please note that MRI cannot reliably detect small lung nodules or show fine lung detail like CT. Therefore, CT is the best and recommended exam to evaluate for lung nodules, pneumonia, and other lung conditions. However, CT has radiation and MRI does not, so MRI has an advantage of safe screening and is best to evaluate the muscles.

Breast Implant
MRI Scan

An MRI of the chest including breast implants to rule out implant leak or rupture with a body coil. Evaluation of the chest will also be performed. Please note that this is not a breast MRI scan. A dedicated breast MRI scan requires IV contrast and a breast coil.

Abdomen
MRI Scan

An MRI of the abdomen will detect masses, cysts, inflammation, hernias, and other abnormalities in the abdomen. It will also evaluate the organs including the gallbladder, biliary tree, liver, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, kidneys, and stomach.

Pelvis
MRI Scan

An MRI of the pelvis will detect enlarged lymph nodes, hernias, inflammation, cysts, and tumors in the pelvic cavity and evaluate the size of the organs. Please note that we do not perform dedicated prostate MRI to exclude cancer as it requires some preparation before imaging and it is best with a 3T MRI scanner.

Knee
MRI Scan

MRI scans locate knee problems such as damage to the meniscus, ligaments, tendons, muscles, bones, and cartilage.

More information

Shoulder
MRI Scan

An MRI of the shoulder provides detailed images of structures within the shoulder joint, including bones, ligaments, muscles, and tendons of the rotator cuff.

More Information

Neuro Screening
MRI Package

MRI neuro screening examines the head and all sections of the spine (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar) to help detect and diagnose problems early on.

Vascular Screening
MRI Package

Vascular screenings (screening MRAs) help detect blood vessel blockages, aneurysms, or plaque buildup that puts patients at risk for strokes or other vascular events before they happen.

Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA)

Evaluates the blood vessels in the neck (carotid and vertebral arteries) and the brain. MRA is used to look for areas of constriction (narrowing) or dilatation (widening).

Health Scan/Cancer Screening
MRI Package

Scans of the brain, soft tissue, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. We offer a limited screening exam for patients with no symptoms to find problems early. We also perform a full diagnostic MRI scans for patients who have symptoms or known disease. Add a health screening MRI to your annual physical exam and take control of your health.

Orbits(Eyes)
MRI Scan

Dedicated MRI of the eyes and surrounding structures for patients with eye pain and/or visual complaints. Limited images of the brain are also included.

Internal Auditory Canals (IACs)
MRI Scan

A high resolution scans of the inner ear structures to evaluate hearing loss or ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Limited images of the brain are also included.

Wrist
MRI Scan

Scans of the wrist evaluate the bones, ligaments, tendons, triangular fibrocartilage, and syncovium to determine the cause of wrist pain so you doctor can administer the appropriate treatment.

Hand, Finger, or Thumb
MRI Scan

MRI of the hand, fingers, or thumb will evaluate the integrity of the tendons, ligaments, muscles, and bones which may be critical to ensuring the proper treatment.

Elbow
MRI Scan

An MRI of the elbow can evaluate for tears of the biceps, triceps, and other major tendons. The MRI will also show the ligaments, the articular surfaces, and the bones of the elbow joint.

Ankle
MRI Scan

Scans of the ankle joint show the Achilles tendon, plantar fascia, and the flexor and extensor tendons surrounding the ankle. The MRI scan will also evaluate the articular surfaces or osteochondral defects, injuries, and arthriitis and the ligaments that keep the ankle stable. Soft tissue injuries, inflammation, and masses can be visualized.

Foot
MRI Scan

Dedicated MRI of the foot will show the bones, ligament, and tendons to determine the cause of foot pain. MRI of the foot can be centered in the back (hindfoot), the middle (midfoot), and the front to include the toes (forefoot). MRI of the foot can find infections, injuries, cysts, inflammation, and masses that may be causing symptoms.

Pituitary Gland
MRI Scan

A high resolution scans of the pituitary gland can excluded pituitary tumors and other abnormalities that affect the pituitary gland, sella, and surrounding structures.

Our MRI Machines

From their creation, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines have made a large impact on the way we diagnose certain diseases and study internal organs. MRI scanners use powerful magnetic fields and radio waves to create the incredible images, with no dangerous ionizing radiation like CAT scans and X-rays.

Open MRI Machine

Open MRI machines have top and bottom magnetic areas and do not enclose patients. The space between the two sides often alleviates any claustrophobia. Open MRI machines are used to accommodate claustrophobic, obese, and pediatric patients.

Wide Bore MRI Machine

Wide Bore MRI systems have a high magnet strength of 1.5 Tesla and produce high quality imaging in a more comfortable, spacious environment. Wide Bore which is ideal for larger and claustrophobic patients.
