OUR MRI EXAMS
Brain and Head
An MRI scan of the head and brain is used to detect the causes of headaches, seizures, weakness, hearing loss, mental status change, and blurry vision.
A cervical spine (neck MRI) can detect a wide range of abnormalities, disc herniations, and injuries which may be causing neck, shoulder, arm, or hand pain.
Commonly used to detect a herniated disk or narrowing of the spinal canal in patients with back and/or leg pain or lower extremity weakness.
Chest MRI Scan
Specifically designed to visualize lymph nodes, tumors, and soft tissue injuries of the chest wall and muscles.
We only perform breast MRI scans to evaluate breast implants as these exams do not require contrast.
Abdomen MRI Scan
An MRI of the abdomen will detect inflammation, hernias, cysts, tumors, growths, or lumps in organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and stomach.
Pelvic MRI Scan
An MRI of the pelvis will detect hernias, inflammation, cysts, tumors, growths, or lumps in the ovaries, uterus, rectum, bladder, and prostate.
Knee MRI Scan
MRI scans locate knee problems such as damage to the meniscus, ligaments, tendons, muscles, bones, and cartilage.
Shoulder MRI Scan
An MRI of the shoulder provides detailed images of structures within the shoulder joint, including bones, ligaments, muscles, and tendons of the rotator cuff.
Bone and Joint
Scans virtually all the bones, joints, and soft tissues in the body and identifies injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, cartilage, and bones.
MRI neuro screening examines the head, and all sections of the spine (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar) to help detect and diagnose problems early on.
Vascular screenings (screening MRAs) help detect blood vessel blockages, aneurysms, or plaque buildup that puts patients at risk for strokes or other vascular events before they happen.
Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA)
Evaluates the blood vessels in the neck (carotid and vertebral arteries) and the brain. MRA is used to look for areas of constriction (narrowing) or dilatation (widening).

Our MRI Machines
From their creation, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines have made a large impact on the way we diagnose certain diseases and study internal organs. MRI scanners use powerful magnetic fields and radio waves to create the incredible images, with no dangerous ionizing radiation like CAT scans and X-rays.
Open MRI Machine
Open MRI machines have top and bottom magnetic areas and do not enclose patients. The space between the two sides often alleviates any claustrophobia. Open MRI machines are used to accommodate claustrophobic, obese, and pediatric patients.
Available in our Atlanta Braselton MRI center
Wide Bore MRI Machine
Wide Bore MRI systems have a high magnet strength of 1.5 Tesla and produce high quality imaging in a more comfortable, spacious environment. Wide Bore which is ideal for larger and claustrophobic patients.
Available in our Atlanta Brookhaven MRI center
Want to know sooner or require urgent results? Stat results available in under 90 minutes for an additional $50.
We also provide a phone consultation service which allows you to discuss the findings of your MRI with an experienced radiologist for an additional $100.
MRI Health Screening Examinations
MRI health screening examinations of the head, neck, chest, body, pelvis, spine, and arteries (MRAs) are also available to give you peace of mind. Along with an annual physical, colonoscopy, and mammography exam, an MRI screening study can help you locate and resolve problems early on.
Unlike CT and x-ray scans, MRI scans emit no radiation, so they can be used as a safe and powerful screening tool to ensure your health is always is as it should be.
MRI screenings can be booked without a doctor’s order or insurance and don’t take any longer than a normal MRI.
